Stamp Duty Calculator

Tax is payable when you purchase a property above a certain value. The amount can be quite significant and you’ll have to factor this into your budget when considering how much deposit you need to buy a house.

The actual rate applied depends on whether you’re a first time buyer and, if not, how many properties you currently own. If you’re currently living overseas an additional stamp duty charge may apply. Please consult your solicitor for further information.

Simply adjust the following to calculate your stamp duty costs:

  • The purchase price
  • Whether you’re a first time buyer
  • Whether is a buy-to-let or second home
  • Whether you’re a non-UK resident

The calculator will display your stamp duty cost based on the information you provide.
